Director of Software Development

Location: Palm Beach, FL

We currently have an open position in our Palm Beach Gardens office for a full time Director of Software Development. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer. This individual will be responsible for managing in-house and off-shore teams of software developers developing new services and providing in-life support for existing services. The SCRUM software development methodology is in place and the ideal candidate will be a certified SCRUMMaster. We are willing to relocate the right candidate.

Job Requirements

• Primary responsibility is to manage the software development schedule for application and web portal products and services.
• Ability to develop written design specifications from marketing and product management input as well as interviews with other key stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain wiki-based documentation of development schedule, backlog, and active scope.
• Participate in bug reviews with product management, prioritize and assign bugs to developers.
• Write and review code in a variety of languages, including C++, PHP, HTML and JavaScript.
• Oversee build schedule and ensure builds are completed and submitted to QA on time and with complete build notes.
• Manage software developers, write performance reviews, mentor and develop subordinates.

Skills/Education

• Languages: C++, PHP, .Net, HTML, XML, JavaScript
• Tools: Visual Studio 2005
• Programming in C/C++ using Windows API
• Microsoft System Installer (MSI)
• COM programming
• ActiveX Web Controls
• Multithreaded applications
• Experience with source code control systems (Subversion)
• Experience with bug-tracking systems (Bugzilla)

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Databases: SQL on Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL
• WIX
• 5-7 years experience required
• BS or equivalent education + work experience
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
